Southside Junction Tap House

Eighteen rotating drafts, burgers, tacos and a small stage for local bands on the corner of South Court Street.

Southside Junction is downtown Fayetteville's tap house: 18 rotating craft drafts, a kitchen turning out burgers and tacos, and local bands on the Southside Stage, all on the corner at 101 South Court Street. It's a natural first stop when you come off the river thirsty. The tap house opens at 3 PM on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and pours until 11, opens at 2 PM on Saturday (until 11) and Sunday (until 9), and is closed on Wednesday.

Older listings show shorter hours, so trust the tap house's own site, and in the off-season give 304-574-2222 a quick call before you head over.

What to drink and eat at Southside Junction

Beer comes first here. The tap house bills itself as "Fayetteville's ONLY Tap House," named after a historic stop on southern West Virginia's rail lines, and keeps 18 craft drafts rotating (the CVB counts 17) alongside house wine, cans and cocktails.

The kitchen is a real one, lunch and dinner. On the online menu, burgers run $15 to $18, tacos are $6 each or three for $15, and a classic poutine is $14. Guests quoted on the tap house's site call out the pickle chips and the poutine, and note vegetarian versions of most of the menu. Visit Fayetteville files it under sports bars. Ordering works like plenty of small-town bars: open a tab at the bar, order there, and the food comes out to you.

A small room, so time it right

It's cozy. One diner quoted on the tap house's site puts it kindly: "Not a ton of tables so be prepared to possibly wait a few minutes for a seat." A HappyCow reviewer was less charmed by the size, the lack of outdoor seating and dogs barking inside, though the same listing notes wheelchair access. If you want a table for a group, come early in the evening.

Live music, trivia and paint-and-sip nights

The Southside Stage books local bands, now and then some of what the tap house calls "big-city talent," and its ordering page promises live music every Thursday. It also runs trivia nights and paint-and-sip evenings. Shows land on the Visit Fayetteville events calendar well in advance; Untrained Professionals play December 5, 2026, for one. Check the Fayetteville events calendar for the week you're in town. (The same page mentions Wednesday game nights, but Wednesday is when it's closed, so don't plan around those.)

Finding the right corner

Plug in 101 South Court Street. Yelp lists the address as North Court, which could send your map to the courthouse block instead. The tap house has been a downtown fixture for years: WOAY covered its reopening on May 28, 2020, after a two-month pandemic closure, with co-owner Cassidy Bayes. Earlier restaurants on this corner, such as The Vandalian, are long gone, so any old listing under those names points here.

Make a night of it

By day, Cathedral Cafe and Range Finder Coffee are on the same stretch of South Court. After dark, see breweries and bars for everything from Bridge Brew Works to the resort pubs in Lansing, and the Fayetteville dining guide for dinner. Book a room within walking distance of Court Street and nobody has to drive home.
