What the guide is for
Fayetteville Insider exists to help you plan a great trip to Fayetteville, West Virginia and the New River Gorge. It goes after the questions the official sites leave open: which stretch of river suits a first-timer, when the Bridge Day lots fill, what's actually closed this month and what a weekend is likely to cost. Every page lists its sources and the date its facts were checked, so you know how fresh the answer is.
Who's behind it
The guide is published by Appalachian Frontiers LLC, a small independent publisher of place guides. It isn't connected to the Town of Fayetteville, either convention and visitors bureau, the National Park Service, or any outfitter, lodge or restaurant it covers, so nobody pays to be on these pages.
How the pages are researched
The facts come from primary documents (National Park Service pages and rules, the Army Corps release schedule, USGS river gauges, town and county filings, the businesses' own sites) and from local news. When a page passes along what visitors think, it says whose opinion that is. The pages are researched rather than written from staff visits, and if that changes, the page will say who went and when.
